So after years, I finally ended my Apple boycott and picked up an iPhone 4 (32GB).
Being an iPhone noob, I don't know where to begin in terms of apps. So what are those "Must Have" apps for the iPhone?

So far I've only downloaded the free apps:
Games: Angry birds NinJump, Mega Jump, Sudoku, Simpsons, Zombieville USA, etc Other: Weather Channel, Shazam, Alarm Clock, Speed Test, Facebook, Yahoo Fantasy (for all my pools), etc.
I'm probably not going to jailbreak my phone. I don't mind paying some cash for apps that are decent and I don't care enough about added themes and stuff that come with jailbreaking.

So here's a list of a few games that i'm addicted to:
Mega Jump: you just tilt your iPhone left and right to move the character. Collect coins to keep jumping up. Higher levels can get quite challenging.
Battlebears -1: FPS. Good controls and it's more about shooting and straifing. Many of the FPS apps move awkwardly and aiming is tough. Not so with this one. So far it's the only game I bought.
Gun Bros: like Smash Bros
Trainyard EX:puzzle game where you lay down tracks to get the trains from one spot to another. Anybody who likes puzzles will like this game.
CoinDozer: if you ever played those coin games at Dave & Busters... Then you know what this game is all about. I doubt most will like it, but highly addictive.

Here's some more games... with a good 45 minute commute one way, I need lots of apps to keep me busy:
Minigore -FPS, animated very well... kind of like zombies where the game goes on forever.
Mr. AaaH! -very simple game. You are a stick guy on a platform and you swing to another platform. You press the screen when you want to let go of the rope. Wind, gravity and the height and width of the platforms change.
Geared -you place gears to connect the spinning gear to the blue gears. It can be tendious at times though when placing a gear in the proper spot.
Jet Ball -Probably the best version of Arkanoid I've seen as an app.
Ragdoll 1 and 2 -Play the first one if you never played this game. It's a puzzle type game where you shoot ragdolls at a target. of course there are lots of obstacles in the way. The second one has a HUUUUGE upgrade in graphics, but the game play is just as good.

Quick updates on some apps I mentioned:
Mega Jump: They made a bunch of great improvements. You can now get power ups at varying levels. Plus lots more characters and 10 new levels (okay it's really the first 10 levels, but much harder).
Battlebears -1: New levels added (2nd and 3rd). Also 2nd level is free (or was free... I think the promo is over)
Gun Bros: Went from really good to really crap (many glitches) kinda reminds me of Black Ops... but most have been fixed and it works great now. They introduced a new world and more guns, but even the best guns are so underpowered at any stage higher than Revolution 4.
More non-game apps:
Google: This one is just fun to play with. You can even do a picture search or voice to text search. Plus it organizes all your Google shit.
Redflagdeals: It's a little more organized than just going to the RFD website.
Groupon: One of the better coupon/daily deals websites out there
Machinima: They have their current videos up there, good time waster, but you need internet.
My cats' choice for favorite app:
Pocket pond: Basically, it's a koi pond, but if you touch the screen, it disrupts the water and the fish scatter.
Random freakiness of the day:
A co-worker asked me today if I could show him how to make folders on his iPhone 4. So I was looking for 2 similar apps because I wanted to show him that the iPhone is intuitive enough to suggest a name for the folder. But on his screen, the apps were very random... Facebook, Air Canada, Holy Bible, etc... so I moved to the next page over... it's all porn apps! Then the next page, more porn apps! next page... even more porn apps! I quickly flipped back to the first page and just showed him how to just drag one app over another and it automatically creates the folder. But afterwards, I ran to the washroom and cleaned my hands for like 5 minutes! FML

The days of the iPhone 4's video conferencing being limited to Wi-Fi connectivity have come to an end, as today Skype released an update to their official iOS 4 app that enables mobile video calling over Wi-Fi and 3G.
The free update, which is available for download immediately, allows users to make video calls to any member of their contact list using a video conferencing-capable device, including PCs, laptops, and other iPhone users.
Owners of the iPad or older versions of the iPod touch, which lack built-in cameras, will also be able to use video conferencing, though only able to view incoming video.
While other apps, like Fring, have implemented video conferencing over 3G, Skype is the first major communication service to add the feature to their iPhone app.
To download the latest version of the Skype app, view the official page on iTunes.

Some more games:
Gravity Guy - You run staight through a path and press the screen to switch the gravity to get by obstacles. It's fast paced and higher levels you have a guy chasing you so you need to move as fast as you can. Higher levels are frustrating like the jet ski level on Battletoads. You need to be perfect to get through those levels.
:Shift: - Similar type in concept as Gravity Guy, but it's just one screen. The levels are puzzle based, but there are a few levels where you need to move fast to avoid the spikes. Kinda short... wouldn't pay for it, but good way to waste an hour or so.
CapcomGame - Classic Capcom arcade games for free! Although you only get a few credits per day. Worth playing just for the nostalgic value alone. Also the controls are pretty good. I can do fireballs and uppercuts in SFII fairly easily.
And a special plug for my buddy who started his own Apple App company about 2 years ago. His company is called Endloop. He has a few games on there that has been somewhat successful (Bankshot and TriTowers) and had his iHeartRate app featured in Men's Fitness Magazine. But his biggest success to date is iMockups for the iPad. It's basically an app that helps you with wireframes and designs when creating your own apps. This app has been featured and praised all over the place as a must have app for iPad owners.
I looking forward to his newest app that should launch soon: Chicken Balls (mashup of Angry Birds / Peggle / Ragdoll Blaster and the art style is inspired by Little Big Planet + Kirby's Epic Yarn)

So it turns out my friend is VERY successful with his new app Chicken Balls (for iPad)!
Currently #2 app in Canada and #3 in US.... also beating Angry Birds which is a direct competitor!
Insane.... makes me want to quit my job and start up a company.

All I have right now is RFD, Facebook, Twitter, Kijiji and Poker lol. Once they find a way to Jailbreak the 4s, Imma go off and download all the good stuff
As for Siri, everything is functional except the locations in Canada. I heard by 2012 that would be fixed, hopefully it comes a little sooner though.
